the Pillows of the Comtesse

plastic seet, blower, 2006

As soon as a visitor enters the space pillows made of plastic sheet inflate to become a sculpture by a blower which is attached to motion sensors. In order to see the pillows the spectator has to keep the installation up and alive through moving around and considering it - as soon as he turns away it will sink down and loose it sculptural qualities and change back into loose bits of plastic sheet, lying on the ground.
